Autumn Term 1

Welcome to Rainbow Class! My name is Miss Oxley and I am the Reception Class Teacher. 

I am supported by our fantastic team: Miss Ince, our morning Teaching Assistant, and Miss Smith, our Teaching Assistant who works with us throughout the day. On Tuesday afternoons, Mrs Burns teaches the class during my PPA time. Together, we create a nurturing, exciting and stimulating environment where every child feels valued, encouraged and inspired to learn.

As a Church of England school, our Christian values are at the heart of everything we do. Throughout the year, we explore our school values of Respect, Kindness, Hope, Perseverance, Curiosity and Community, helping children to grow both academically and personally while learning to care for themselves, others and God's wonderful world.

In Reception, we believe that children learn best through a balance of child-initiated play, exploration and carefully planned teaching. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, providing opportunities for children to develop their independence, confidence, creativity and love of learning.
